The family offering food to the monks of their local pagoda in the hope that their offering will reach the souls of their ancestors by virtue of the monks’ sermons. Pchum Ben is a unique Cambodian Buddhist festival that is held for two straight weeks from the first till the 15th of the Khmer month.
